HBL was notified of the discovery of a single void/well at the north edge of the plot during excavation for a new commercial villa in the Hai Al Murabba area to the northeast of Al Aiin Oasis in September 2021
After 3D scanning and recording of the site conservation measures included protective backfilling of aflaj tunnels and shafts in July 2022 ahead of the construction of an array of deep pile foundations designed and located to avoid impacting the shafts and tunnels of the various aflaj. Construction of a raft foundation was rejeced by Al Ain Municipality.
